Just weeks following Microsoft's unveiling of a groundbreaking category of computers known as "Copilot+ PCs," a plethora of new devices has emerged, tailored not only to cater to this new AI era but also to directly challenge Apple's MacBook lineup.

At the annual Computex trade show in Taiwan, where the latest in computer technology is showcased, ASUS introduced a diverse array of new computers with AI at their core. Spanning from everyday laptops to gaming, creative, and ultra-thin high-performance models, ASUS launched an impressive lineup of seven new machines under the umbrella of "Ubiquitous AI."

The tech industry's spotlight shines brightly on artificial intelligence, with innovations such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, and Meta AI leading the charge into consumer AI adoption. Computer manufacturers are focusing on integrating more than just a touch of AI into the devices we interact with daily.

By embedding AI directly into physical devices, actions can be processed locally, enhancing user privacy by reducing reliance on cloud services. ASUS co-CEO Samson Hu emphasized his company's commitment to leading the AI revolution during the launch event in Taiwan.

"Our comprehensive Ubiquitous AI. Incredible Possibilities. AI strategy ensures that AI permeates every aspect of our business, while also upholding our sustainability commitment," he stated. "ASUS is pioneering the democratization of AI accessibility, ensuring everyone can benefit from its transformative potential."

Among the new offerings are gaming laptops under the TUF sub-brand, impressive creative capabilities in the Pro Art range, and the affordable yet powerful Vivobook S15, available this month. However, the highlight product is undoubtedly the Zenbook S16: a 16-inch laptop measuring a mere 1.1cm thick and weighing only 1.5kg. ASUS benchmarked its performance as surpassing Apple's MacBook with M3 Apple Silicon, echoing similar claims made by Microsoft.

The PC industry appears to have set its sights on Apple's market dominance, responding with features like unprecedented battery life exceeding 20 hours and performance that matches or surpasses the competition.

We're witnessing the dawn of a new era in PC power, with AI positioned at the forefront of innovation. Expect a wave of new laptops to hit retailers in Australia and beyond in the coming weeks and months. While the excitement is palpable today, it's clear that this technology will soon become accessible at lower price points, placing the power of AI within everyone's reach.
